Gov. Doyle signs Sex Ed Bill into law TODAY - Grothman blasts DOYLE

Grothman Blasts Governor Doyle for Signing Bill to Sexualize Wisconsin’s Minor Children

Planned Parenthood Stands to Profit

Madison: Today, Senator Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) blasted Governor Doyle for signing Planned Parenthood’s Sex Ed Bill, Assembly Bill 458, into law.

“I would think the vast majority of Wisconsin parents would not approve of their children’s friends being sexually active in middle school,” said Grothman.

“Sadly, Governor Doyle today signed a bill requiring Wisconsin’s school districts to teach sex education without showing any bias toward sexually active pupils,” said Grothman. “While this non-judgmentalism may be typical of Planned Parenthood which currently supplies contraceptives to 15 year old girls and boys without their parents’ knowledge or consent, it is scandalous to impose their libertine values on other people’s youth.”

The bill also continues the recent trend to centralize local K-12 school curriculums. “Parents must re-double their efforts to monitor what their children are taught in the government schools as the government attack on religious values continues,” advised Grothman. “State law permits parents to opt their children out of offensive classes and local citizens to serve on their school’s Advisory Committees.”

Grothman did get a minor victory by amending the bill to force local school districts to instruct students about the criminal consequences of early sexual activity. Planned Parenthood had tried to keep local school districts from informing Wisconsin’s children that it is a felony to have sex with someone under the age of 16.

Electoral College AT RISK

Electoral College at Risk

From Eagle Forum:

The EC represents the genius of our Founding Fathers and it was part of the
great compromise which transformed us from 13 rival colonies into a
constitutional republic.

· This great compromise gave us a Congress consisting of the Senate based on
equal representation of the states and the House based on population. The
EC is the mirror image of this compromise and allows all states to be players
in the process of electing our President.
· The EC is the vehicle that gives us a President who achieves a majority in a
functioning political process.
· Without the EC, we would always be saddled with minority Presidents
without an adequate basis of support for leadership.
· The EC ensures that no single faction or issue can elect a president because
he must win many diverse states to be elected.
Conclusions:
· This campaign effort is likely just the beginning of an effort to bring national
government under the control of large and liberal states.
· The abolition of the EC contradicts our constitutional republic’s state and
federal government sharing of powers.
· Choosing presidents is one of our states’ powers, and we should not remove it
to begin a centralized national American government

~~ ATTEND Saturday's Pro-Life Rally in Madison ~~

From Pro-Life Wisconsin:

This Saturday, a pro-life rally will be held on the University of Wisconsin campus in opposition to the proposed plan for a late-term abortion center in Madison. Joining thousands of pro-lifers from across the state, and a number of pro-life groups, will be Chris Slattery, a nationally recognized pro-life activist.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Chris Slattery in from New York to lead our rally on Saturday,” said Peggy Hamill, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin. “We ask that all concerned pro-lifers make every effort to attend this historic event.”

The rally to oppose plans to perform late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center will be held on Library Mall (the 700 block of State Street) at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 6.

Slattery will speak to the crowd at Library Mall and lead the pro-life march to the Madison Surgery Center. Almost 2,000 people attended last year’s pro-life rally in Madison.

The event is organized by Pro-Life Wisconsin and Vigil for Life of Madison.
